Never knew anything about web analytic or SEO even 6 months back. After having built some websites and having them ranked with the search engines, needless to say, I am finding it very interesting. Great article, packed with helpful information. Combining these writing skills with using the IBOToolbox, one can be certain of significant increase in website/blog traffic. I’ve yet to come across a free tool to aid in the writing of keyword-rich articles, but I can recommend the IBOToolbox as an excellent free marketing suite aiding in the SEO ranking of articles, advertising messages, and virtually any website using the IBOurl tool.
Ok, there are a few things I would like to say regarding this article/blog post.
First, it is really informative, and a great start point to make people become interested in S.E.O. when they are starting to work with online marketing (or an online business).
But, there are some points that require some further explanation. When talking about keywords, it is true these are important (so always use accurate ones), but because many websites started abusing this S.E.O. technique, many search engines just use them as a guideline nowadays. It’s important to still use them (and use them properly) to help those search engines that still take them into consideration, index your site faster, but don’t rely on these alone.
As for the part that says “content is king”, this is absolutely true, unfortunately you must understand how can content become “king”. If you have ever worked on an article that you submited to an article base (like ezinearticles.com), you probably have noticed that they notify you that the best articles are between 500-700 words long, are original, and only have a 3%-5% keyword density. This is because search engines like original content that is user (human) friendly, and not one that is simply developed to overload it with keywords. So, take that into consideration.
Another very important aspect is how relevant your headlines are (if you use html to create your website/blog, these would be to ) to your website title, description, and keywords. Just for general information purposes, headers are more important than headers, and so on until (regardless if you change size, color, or other attributes with css); and, although bold text helps both users and search engines to classify content as more important, headers are still conssidered more important than bold text.
One asspect that I didn’t find in the article is the importance of links and backlinks. Having a sitemap will help a lot, remember that, for it helps both search engines and users. Also, search engines constantly change algorithms so no one can be capable of figuring out how to get a “perfect” score, but it is proven that the more backlinks (meaning links from other websites to your site/blog), and the more visits you get, the better your results. Do remember to avoid placing a link to your site on farm links, for these can affect your rank in a negative way. Also, the more relevant your website’s content is compared to the site that is linking towards yours, the more “points” towards your ranking you will receive. Another point to consider is, the higher the ranking of the website linking to your site, the better (there are some aspects to consider regarding this, like the fact that .edu wesites give you more “points” so to speak).
Finally, remember to add a description to each page on your site (oh, and also remember keywords and titles must change for each page of your site to make them relevant), and try to make it between 170-230 characters including spaces. Search engines like this, and you have probably seen tons of descriptions if you use google, for some search engines display this information with the link to help users be informed before entering the website. Using the first two or three sentences of your content as your page description is a common practice.
I could keep on going, but there is way too much to cover regarding S.E.O. to actually place it in one post, or one article; for that reason, I would give an 8.5 out of 10 to this article/post. It does provide enoguh information for those starting to become interested in this aspect of online marketing, and what is explained is true, but it is still lacking a little bit of in-depth explanation regarding some topics to avoid readers start using S.E.O. in an ineffective way.

P.S. Also two more points I forgot to mention, search engines love regularly updated sites; that is why blogs and forums tend to earn a higher ranking fater than “static” websites. To finally wrap it up, also remember that S.E.O. takes some time (some manage to get a high rank within a month, and for others it can take up to 6 months or more depending on many variables), but it is worth doing.
